My artistic mission

Being a theatre-maker has made me a better communicator, a better problem solver, a better collaborator, and simply a better person. As I continue to find myself working outside of theatre for survival, I have found the practice of theatre-making seeping into the most mundane activities. When artistic fields are continuously uplifted and valued by our society, everyone will benefit. The process of creating art with other people has taught me more than I could ever describe, and I hope I can embody that practice into everything I do.

I believe that art, especially theatre, can serve as a catalyst for change through individual and collective healing. When the arts are prioritized, we can work together to break through barriers that white supremacist, patriarchal, cis-heteronormative standards have been constructed around us. We allow those who have been hurt a space to feel to their fullest capacity, and connect them with a network of others to serve as a reminder that they are truly not alone. I envision a future where art is truly what saves the world.
